Tredgar RFC Minis
Welcome..
Tredegar is a small town in the heartland of a former coal mining and iron working area at the head of the Sirhowy Valley
The Mini & Junior Section was formed in 2004 by a small enthusiastic group of local parents from Tredegar Rugby Club who were concerned by the lack of recreation opportunities in the area combined with a concern for long term future of rugby in our Town
An idea was born to provide their children and town with some form of sporting recreation.
From that initial idea only 4 years ago we now operate teams from U8’s through to Youth with over 300 children crossing our books in that time.
Each team has the support of WRU qualified coaches, qualified First Aiders, plus Team Managers..
In addition to playing rugby, the Club has a growing social structure with many friendships being developed amoungst the parents not only on thos cold Sunday Autumn mornings but on the end of season tours.
During our short time we have undertaken various social events and we have every intention of repeating them in the future:-
· Club tours to various parts of the UK
· Rugby Festivals
· Players awards evenings
· Parents social evenings
· Christmas parties
· Halloween fancy dress parties
I would encourage all parents who are contemplating having they children involved with Rugby to have no fears in considering having their child joining Tredegar.
At Tredegar you will find us a very family orientated club where you and your child can enjoy all what Rugby stands for.
I hope that you will come along and see what we can offer you and your child and I look forward to meeting you in the future.
