Tredegar’s final game of 2007 saw the men in red
secure a vital bonus point in a 4 try drubbing of relegation facing Pill Harriers.
In a high tempo game Tredegar exerted early pressure that enabled Daryl Carter
and Daniel Davies to run in for two tries in the space of 4 minutes. With
Greg Jones converting both, Tredegar exuded confidence and dominated all phases
of play.
Pill took advantage when Tredegar hooker Ryan Williams was yellow carded but
the home defence stood firm and once back to full strength, full back Rob
Smith crossed seeing Tredegar lead 19 nil at the break.
Pill fought back in the second half scoring two unconverted tries by Young
and Hillier but substitute Daniel Morris late touchdown saw Tredegar run out
convincing winners 24 points to 10.
With this win closing the first half of the season, director of coaching Robert
Johnston has instilled the will to win in the team and traditionally Tredegar
now look forward to the second half of the campaign.
On Saturday 5th January, Tredegar are away to bottom
of the league Llanishen, meeting them for the first time.
