A lethargic performance from Tredegar saw them succumb to the team they had beaten convincingly just seven days ago.
With more fight in their belly Rumney took the game to their hosts and scored a converted try and penalty in each half winning comfortably by twenty points to nil. A win for Bedlinog saw last years promoted team jump ahead of Tredegar in the league whilst this loss allowed Merthyr to move one place ahead with only one point separating the three teams.
Whilst Tredegar hover just above the relegation zone Beddau's win saw them narrow the gap and with the bottom two teams having two games in hand Tredegar could well be involved in a dog fight to avoid the drop.
Tredegar have the opportunity to redeem themselves in their last home fixture against Newbridge on Saturday whilst a win away at Ystrad Rhondda the following week should ensure survival in Division 1
